Russell grew up in FL wrestling at a young age with his 3 brothers and fell in love with the sport
He went on to wrestle all through middle & high school in Henderson County, NC.
He attended Appalachian State University from 2001-2008 playing football and being a part of the teams that beat Michigan and earning 3 back to back national championships.
He founded the Wolverine Wrestling Club in 2018 with a desire to provide a place for his own kids to learn wrestling and also to invest in Polk County. NC by reaching the next generation.
